This afternoon the Brevard Symphony Orchestra had a free family concert. It only lasted an hour and they played music from Disney's Cinderella, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. Also, the orchestra members dressed up in costume and tons of kids came in their costumes. (I didn't have Eleanor in hers because it's so warm and bulky, but I know she would have won the "cutest costume" award if she had. Of course. I'm not biased or anything.) Eleanor absolutely loved the concert and she was mesmerized. I took this picture with no flash:
Eleanor just stared during the first song as she figured out that the orchestra on stage is what was making the music. By the end she was waving her arms like the conductor, clapping after songs, and dancing with her little shoulders to the beat. Even an usher came up to us to comment on how much she seemed to enjoy the concert.
Then of course, we went trick-or-treating. We only went to a handful of houses to neighbors we know, because of course she's too young for the candy and we don't need it. Our neighbors, who are all old enough to be her grandparents or even great-grandparents, just loved it and several said that her visit made their day. She got to be quite the expert at picking candy out of a bowl. At one point she had a fun size candy bar in each hand and maneuvered the fingers in her right hand to pick up a second bar with that hand. The neighbors thought it was hilarious how much she loved getting candy out and they tried to give her just about everything, but I kept having to tell them we had enough.
It was so fun that even the cat decided to come along!
(this is not our house)
