Yesterday we went to El Morro, the oldest Spanish fort in the New World. It was quite impressive! The views are beautiful, and I think that if you had to be a lookout person for approaching ships, this would not be a bad place to do the job. It would be boring, however, because PR was only attacked 5 times over a span of 400 years.
We also went to Castillo San Cristobal, a similar fort not too far away. Again, what gorgeous views! The waves were extra big thanks to Hurricane Igor.
Last night after dinner we went on a walk to this beach that's close to our place. It's very different from Florida beaches! There were a lot of people out surfing in the huge waves.
Finally, today we went to El Yunque, a rainforest on PR's eastern side. It's the only rainforest that's part of the US National Forest system.
