Today is our anniversary, and I am currently sitting in our hotel room with a sleeping baby while Hunter goes out to get a pizza. Things are a little different when you have a baby along! (We decided that each kid gets to come along for one trip since I hope to breastfeed all of our children for one year.) Anyway, I thought I would take a few minutes to reflect on these words we spoke 7 years ago today:
All that I am I give to you, and all that I have I share with you. Whatever the future holds, I will love you and stand by you, as long as we both shall live. This is my solemn vow.
Last night we talked about these words, especially the line, "Whatever the future holds." We have been through so many things, both good and bad, over the last 7 years including:

Last night we talked about these words, especially the line, "Whatever the future holds." We have been through so many things, both good and bad, over the last 7 years including:
- Hunter breaking his leg exactly 5 weeks after our wedding
- Both of us finishing graduate school
- Multiple moves, including 3 states
- My parents divorcing
- Lots of wonderful trips together
- Starting our first "real" jobs
- Buying a house
- The loss of two pets
- The death of a child
- The birth of two babies
Obviously, Ada's death stands out on this list. We both agreed that it puts everything else in perspective. Hunter breaking his leg in 2 places and wearing a cast for 4 months seems rather insignificant when you compare it with the loss of a child! Yet, his broken leg was an amazing introduction to marriage. I still remember when he called me that morning and several minutes into the conversation I thought to myself, "Oh, I'm his wife now so I guess I should go to the hospital!" These events and more, big or small, good or bad, have shaped us as individuals and as a couple. I wonder what the future in the next 7 years (and beyond...) hold for us!
